Welcome Hope Presley

The Friends welcomes Hope Presley as the Refuge’s new Visitor Services Specialist. Hope just graduated with a MS in Resilient and Sustainable Communities from Prescott College and holds a BS in Environmental Science.

Hope has six years of experience working on National Wildlife Refuges. For the past five years, Hope was the Interpretive Specialist for the San Francisco Bay Wildlife Society, the Friends Group at Don Edwards San Francisco Bay Refuge, where she coordinated an interpretive program educating residents about urban runoff pollution at the Refuge Environmental Education Center.

Before that, she served in multiple positions through the Student Conservation Association.

Last summer, Hope worked in Oregon on a project at the Ankeny Refuge through the US Fish and Wildlife Services Directorate Fellows Program. Hope helped with the opening and operations of the brand-new Ankeny Hill Nature Center.

Hope looks forward to ensuring safe and equitable access to the Refuge and educating and inspiring future generations of conservation stewards. In her free time, you can find her on the beach with her dog, Jack, or hiking the many public lands available here in the Pacific NW!
